Matt's super-self-absorbed reading journal is Ex Libris Kirkland. Matt was born & raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He had trouble keeping his room clean, and often built toy cars, kites, drawing implements, or child-sized weapons from things he found in the garbage. Sometime later, he moved to Lawrence, Kansas, to study design. His work there earned several awards, including scholarships and research funding. He wrapped up his BFA with a thesis on sustainable designs using industrial waste products. He currently designs websites at a small consultancy in San Diego. His amazing wife Erika makes crafty jewelry, insanely tasty pies, and is a heck of a blogger. Matt spends his free time reading books old enough to be your great-grandfather, admiring Kurasawa movies, searching for fatalism and recursion in the decision structure of choose-your-own-adventure books, and breaking & entering.
